2011 Scholarships Announced
The Walker County Home Builders Association has awarded $1,000 scholarships this year to three
deserving students.
Eric Ronald Garner, Cordova High School
Morgan Elizabeth Walton, Curry High School
George Tyler Jones, Corner High School
One student sees his future in welding, another in architecture, and another in sports medicine. Each of these students came highly recommended by their teachers and have demonstrated a desire to further their education. We congratulate you all!
Since 2002, The Walker County Home Builders have awarded a total of $60,600 in local scholarships - placing a investment in our future.
Walker County Home Builders' Scholarship History
2010 - 10 applications submitted - 6 scholarships awarded at $1000.00 each
2009 - 10 applications submitted - 8 scholarships awarded at $1000.00 each
APPLICANTS MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be a resident of Alabama
2. Must be enrolled in, or attending, a junior college, technical school or university in Alabama
3. Must be enrolled in a construction-related curriculum
4. Application to be received by April 15th
